Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 10, 2026

What We Collect

StockRead collects the minimum data needed to provide the service:

  • Account information: Your email address if you sign in with Apple or email. If you continue as a guest, a random identifier is assigned to enable service functionality, and no personal information is collected.
  • Usage data: Which reports you generate, search queries, and basic app interaction events. This helps us improve the product.
  • Subscription data: Transaction records from Apple for subscription management and billing.
  • Device identifiers: If you grant permission via the App Tracking Transparency prompt, your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) is collected and used solely to measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns (see "Marketing Attribution" below). You can withdraw this permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

How We Use Your Data

  • To authenticate you and manage your account.
  • To generate and deliver stock analysis reports.
  • To enforce free report quotas and manage subscriptions.
  • To improve the app through aggregated, anonymized analytics.

What We Do Not Do

  • We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
  • We do not use your data to serve you ads inside the app.
  • We do not share individual usage data with other users.

Marketing Attribution

When you first open StockRead, iOS asks whether you want to allow tracking. If you tap "Allow", your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) is shared with AppsFlyer, a mobile attribution platform. AppsFlyer uses this to determine which marketing channel (such as a TikTok ad) led to your download, and reports an aggregated conversion count to that channel. No browsing history, financial data, or report content is included. If you tap "Ask App Not to Track", only a privacy-preserving, non-identifiable signal is used.

You can change your choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → StockRead.

Third-Party Services

  • Supabase: Authentication and database hosting (hosted in the EU).
  • xAI (Grok): AI model used to generate report content. Ticker queries are sent to xAI's API to produce analysis. No personal information is included in these requests.
  • EODHD: Financial data provider for company fundamentals and market data.
  • Apple: Subscription payment processing via StoreKit 2.
  • AppsFlyer: Mobile attribution and analytics. With your ATT consent, AppsFlyer collects your IDFA to attribute app installs and subscription conversions to the marketing campaigns that drove them. AppsFlyer's privacy policy is available at appsflyer.com/legal/privacy-policy.
  • RevenueCat: Subscription management and billing infrastructure. RevenueCat receives transaction records from Apple on our behalf to verify and manage your subscription status. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase with row-level security policies. All communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS encryption. Authentication tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain.

Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. When you delete your account (available in the app's Settings screen), all personal data is permanently removed from our systems. A one-way cryptographic hash of your email may be retained solely for abuse prevention (e.g., preventing repeated free-tier resets). This hash cannot be reversed to recover your email address. Anonymized, aggregated usage statistics may be retained for analytics purposes.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: View your account information in the app's Settings.
  • Delete: Permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings screen.
  • Contact: Reach us with any privacy questions at support@stockread.app.

Children's Privacy

StockRead is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
